Boohoo! It’s a Ghost
Boohoo!
It’s a Ghost
Finally, it was a day
I plan to give in to my temptation.
I see some young
mortals eat pastries, candies as they celebrate.
Seeing me they all Boohoo and I too Boohoo in shock.
I ask myself; why did
they run away as they see me; I am merely a ghost.
I see some folks
passing by, lifting a corpse while they mourn.
I am also a ghost,
and so much feel their pain, and decide to join.
Seeing me they all Boohoo and I too Boohoo as I hear them
scream.
They all left the
dead; heard one of them call him dad.
It bewilders me to
see the mortals always Boohoo at me.
For sure, it cannot
be for the way I look.
I been called the
cutest ghost so often by my own folks.
For sure I got to
find the reason why it is so.
I start my day with
visit to a place mortals call mall.
Longest was a queue,
both short and tall, to watch movies on ghosts.
Murder, theft; no
evil left, they didn't show the ghosts commit.
Put us all ghosts so
much in bad light; no wonder why they always Boohoo at us with so much fear.
Somewhere at a corner
I see stack of books on sale.
Most popular were
those on ghosts, and I read some that I found closer.
Made us responsible
for mass destruction, abandonment of cities and all the like.
For generations, a few
made us responsible for their crimes, we never committed.
They made commerce
out of ghosts; with exuberance they celebrate the Halloween.
I pity, and my heart
goes for my own folks on this Ghost's Day, as they invite none of us.
They make merry and
put on costumes which ghosts would never pick for their wardrobe.
Who wouldn't Boohoo at us, if this is
the way these mortals put us to light.
