How to manufacture a Godman of good times?

How to manufacture a Godman of good times?

All’s not well, everything leading towards doomsday and everyone going to the dogs!
These are some utterances that can be heard during the not-very-bad days.
For sure I can say somewhere a godman is getting manufactured, when he is needed the least.
This is his first effort to create demand for a product that would finally be sold by the name of ‘Religion’.

On his first sales attempt, he looks out for the hungry, the poor and the deplorable.
And his first encounter with one such weak, he exchanges his preaching for sparing their life.
And in another marketplace, he exchanges his preaching with the little available food.
And nothing better if he finds a rich; intoxicated with drugs and himself knows not why he is into depression.

But these fellows are not sane to be good enough to advertise the ascent of a guru in the town.
So he employs singers, musicians, performers, artists; who do not always remain on paid work.
The orchestral gala throws everyone into an emotional state and they confuse it with their start of spiritual voyage
Music is like drugs and the godman knows it well, and before they regain their senses,
The godman utters some proclamations and assuring them of on-demand nirvana.
Ah! Buddha must be feeling miserable to see everyone getting instant Nirvana.
It costed him his dear wife, son Rahul and the kingdom to finally get an experience of it.

His preaching begins with the condemnation of everything in us and the way we are.
Non-vegetarians, the polygamists, the addicts are condemned and singled out by him.
But if ever he is caught with wrong thing and wrong people in a wrong place that he blatantly condemned in others,
He would say this is a divine wish and he is the chosen one and then says silently to himself, ‘to screw everything up.’

He spends most of the time in the role of a nutritionist; talking only about what to eat while his talk on God takes a backseat.
And shares some reality jokes demeaning all and smartly capitalizes on our weakness and dependence on easy life.
So he provides free food, green open space and sometimes even accommodation.
Similar to the way I got pulled to a music show; ticket costed less but the drinks and food were priced manifold times.
And I keep thinking where is the God I came looking for; what I am getting is available even at the holiday inn.

Some pick up devotees of all nationalities and color to show the universal acceptance of their teachings.
Anyone mutter any logical difference against the godman or his affiliation,
Are stiffly faced by an army of devotees who after much long practice actually become terrorists.
They were never taught to crush their ego and be ready to be shamed if that helps others.
They protect the godman and they have to; they have lost their identity while he was building his own.

He is a learned guru and responds his critics with graphs and statistics of all the work he has done.
Precisely he remembers every penny he has spent on feeding peanuts to the poor.
Rightly said, we need to build the habit of begging sometimes even when we have it all.
So that we remain grounded and do not forget one day none would be spared of misery and eventual death.

The I-consciousness and self-realization is spoken at a level to confuse one and all.
Opining and advising touches its peak, but any questioner is deemed ignorant and requiring surgical redemption.
While he strongly acknowledges one’s ego as the cause of all suffering.
But he himself without being unaware of it becomes a victim of his own ego and self-pomp.

He does not openly show but fears the atheists who counters him with their shots of practicality.
But I wonder at the confidence of these non-believers who seem to know so well the non-existence of everything.
For not believing in something needs as much belief as it is needed to believe in something.
For I am not going to believe easily if Tom says Jim is not his father.
For Jim to be not his father Tom should have been fully aware of it when he was getting born.

People need solace and switch between affiliations so they can be a better person and remain united.
But their new godman strives to find their weakness so that they are made to feel deplorable and stick to him.
He discriminates them on grounds of food habits, personal opinions, past actions and anything that strikes his mind.
There are better godmen who accepts everyone for the way they are with all their shortcomings.

While one man is the reason for causing suffering to the other; but it is the situation to be blamed.
For men cannot live without men; didn’t Crusoe in his prayers always missed a human when he was shipwrecked.
It never mattered for him what the color, religion and language of Friday was while he was deserted in an island
I too have once been shamed when one fellow helped me while I had disliking for his affiliations till then.
Let my faith be based more on humanity since if I am seen by my enemy as I lay hurt beside an injured animal.
For sure, he will save me and not the animal as he would say ‘Hey, this dead looks so much like a man!’

I seek one who helps me become a good human as that is more difficult and requires much forbearance.
And not the one who is so much merged in his own display of flamboyance.
Will a poor fellow in need dare to approach him to beg two cents in the midst of such a religious catwalk?
We wish to visit a godman who can help us dive deep into our inner self and transcend all illusions.
But some build up and stay in citadels; how could a poor man not gaze this extravagance in awe and pity his own existence.

It takes time to be; but let me not fear anything and never feel myself so weak.
This would make the preachers and all the places of worship obsolete and least needed.
For they cannot survive if I am strong and always there to guide myself.
Let me find one or be my own guide; be shameless to speak the truth and devoid of even a speck of ego.
Offer the hungry the only bread I have; and not offer the left-outs when my tummy is too full and cannot take any more.
And still beg when I am blessed with everything so that my ego never overgrows me in my good times.

Some entrepreneurs found ‘Nirvana’ and ‘Moksha’ too catchy words.
So they named their food or hookah lounge, bar, clubs, drugs and brothels as centers of Instant-Moksha or Nirvana.
I sometime get perplexed; but Krisha was not a Hindu, Buddha not a Buddhist and nor was Christ a Christian.
But they were the super human bohemian of their ages and downplayed all rules for the cause of humanity.
And we are into only following the rules and religion, for it is much easier; while humanity takes a backseat.
